The firm

A local practice built on long-term relationships

Harlow & Finch is a small, independent accounting practice. We work with a limited number of clients at a time so that each one gets proper attention, and we would rather be the firm you stay with as your family or business changes than the one that handles you once a year.

You will find us at the same address, answering the same phone, and willing to explain things as many times as it takes.

Our services

Support for the whole financial picture

Most clients start with one service and add others as their needs grow. Each service page explains what is involved and how to begin.

Why clients choose a local firm

Personal attention, practical advice

A consistent point of contact

You deal with the same small team year after year, so nobody has to re-learn your situation.

Explanations in plain English

We take the time to explain what a number means and what your options are, so you can decide with confidence.

Work that follows your calendar

We agree on deadlines early and keep you informed, so tax season and year-end are less of a scramble.

Professional relationships

Working alongside your other advisers

Good financial decisions often involve more than one professional. With your permission, we are glad to work with your attorney, banker, insurance agent or financial planner, so that everyone is working from the same accurate numbers.

We will also tell you plainly when a question belongs with a specialist, and help you find the right conversation to have.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

What types of clients do you work with?
We work mainly with individuals, families, self-employed professionals and small businesses in our area. If you are not sure whether we are the right fit, ask. We will tell you honestly, and point you elsewhere if someone else would serve you better.
How does a first consultation work?
Send us a short enquiry and we will arrange a conversation, by phone or in person. We ask about your situation, explain how we would help and what it would cost, and you decide whether to go ahead. There is no pressure to commit at the first meeting.
How are your fees set?
It depends on the service and the complexity of your situation. We agree on the scope and the fee in writing before starting, so you know what to expect. See the services overview for what each service involves.
Can I send documents without coming into the office?
Yes. Tell us what is easiest for you and we will explain how to send documents safely. In-person meetings are always available if you prefer them.
